NEW DELHI: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Thursday that India would have gained the cricket World Cup if the championship sport had taken place in Mumbai or Kolkata.
Chatting with celebration staff at Kolkata’s Netaji Indoor Stadium, she stated that efforts had been on to “saffronise” the nationwide cricket group.
“They’re attempting to color your entire nation saffron. We’re pleased with our Indian gamers, and I imagine that we might have gained the World Cup if the finals had taken place in Kolkata or Wankhede (in Mumbai),” she stated.
“They even tried to saffronise the group by introducing saffron follow jerseys. The gamers resisted, and because of this, they didn’t need to put on these jerseys in the course of the matches,” she added.
Banerjee persevered in her criticism of the BJP, claiming that sinners carry their transgressions with them wherever they go.
“The Indian group performed so properly that they gained all of the matches within the World Cup, besides the one attended by the sinners,” she stated, with out naming anybody.
