The Commons Speaker stated MPs “should be knowledgeable on the earliest alternative” of any UK motion towards the Houthis in Yemen.

The Iran-backed Houthis have been attacking ships they are saying are linked to Israel and the West that journey via the Crimson Sea.

However Sir Lindsay Hoyle wouldn’t be drawn on whether or not there must be a Commons vote on additional motion, saying he would anticipate the prime minister to talk earlier than making “that judgement name”.
