A hostage scenario on a prepare in Switzerland on Thursday night time ended after nearly 4 hours with the suspect killed in a police raid and the 15 hostages freed, authorities say.
Passengers travelling from Yverdon to Sainte-Croix have been earlier held hostage, in Essert-Sous-Champvent, western Switzerland, on February Thursday. Nonetheless, after the police raid, the passengers have been launched unhurt.
The hostage-taker was armed with an axe and a knife, and was talking Farsi and English, Vaud canton police spokesman Jean-Christophe Sauterel stated at a press briefing.
The person was shot useless by a police officer after allegedly speeding at him with the axe.
