After Dhirubhai Ambani handed away in 2002, his household determined to purchase the property in its entirety and convert the mansion right into a memorial and a museum in his honour. The mansion was named ‘The Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Home’ and was inaugurated in 2011 by his spouse, Kokilaben Ambani, and his sons, Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani.
