Nifty's 22 parts document new highs in June; 5 on Wednesday

The Nationwide Inventory Trade (NSE) benchmark Nifty on Wednesday notched up its ninth new document excessive of the month and twenty third of calendar 12 months 2024. The blue-chip firm index ended the day at 23,869, gaining 0.62 per cent over its earlier shut.

5 index parts — Reliance Industries, ICICI Financial institution, Axis Financial institution, Bharti Airtel, and Grasim Industries — ended the day at lifetime highs, and one other 17 recorded new highs this month. Given the market buoyancy, 34 of the 50 Nifty parts have clocked contemporary highs in 2024. Whereas the 50-share index is up 9.8 per cent 12 months up to now (YTD), precisely half of its parts has exceeded its returns.

13 Nifty shares are down YTD, whereas one other 12 have delivered solely single-digit returns. The perfect-performing shares this 12 months have been Mahindra & Mahindra (up 65 per cent YTD), Shriram Finance (45 per cent) and Adani Ports & Particular Financial Zone (43 per cent). However, the worst-performers are LTI Mindtree (down 18 per cent), Asian Paints (16 per cent), and HDFC Life Insurance coverage (9 per cent).

All however two index parts have made contemporary new highs after the Covid pandemic in 2020.

The 2 that haven’t — IndusInd Financial institution and ONGC — are buying and selling under their peak ranges of 2018 and 2014, respectively.
