Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez is accused of slapping a cameraman after Argentina’s 1-2 loss to Colombia in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday. Jhonny Jackson, a cameraman for Caracol Televisión and RCN Deportes, claimed the incident occurred in Barranquilla as he was filming Martínez after the match ended.
Jackson stated he approached Martínez whereas the goalkeeper was greeting one other participant.Footage taken by Jackson exhibits Martínez hitting the digicam, inflicting it to shake and fall.
Jackson advised RCN Deportes, “Out of the blue, he slapped me. I felt offended, very offended. I used to be working, similar to he was.”

Regardless of the incident, Jackson despatched a reconciliatory message to Martínez: “Dibu, my brother, how are you? I’m Jhonny Jackson, the cameraman you assaulted… I wished to let you know it’s all good. Everybody has misplaced a match of their life. This defeat clearly meant so much to you.”
Colombia’s affiliation of sports activities journalists (ACORD) responded by calling for FIFA to take motion towards Martínez. ACORD’s president, Faiver Hoyos Hernández, condemned the goalkeeper’s actions and urged FIFA to impose an “exemplary sanction.”
There was no remark from Martínez or South American soccer governing physique CONMEBOL concerning the allegations.
