Kolkata Police on Wednesday began a probe after receiving a grievance from former Indian cricket crew captain Sourav Ganguly, accusing an individual of defamation and cyberbullying, a senior officer mentioned. In an electronic mail to Kolkata Police’s cyber part on Tuesday evening, Ganguly’s secretary lodged the grievance, whereas sharing a hyperlink to a video. “We have now obtained an electronic mail and are wanting into it,” the officer mentioned. Within the electronic mail, Ganguly’s secretary wrote, “I’m writing to convey to your consideration a case of cyberbullying and defamation involving an individual named Mrinmoy Das. This particular person has posted a video on a social media platform that targets Sourav Ganguly, utilizing abusive language and making derogatory remarks, that are dangerous to his popularity.”
