Punjab Kings (PBKS) have parted methods with head coach Trevor Bayliss and head of cricket improvement Sanjay Bangar forward of the following Indian Premier League (IPL) season, based on ESPNcricinfo. As per the report, the choice was made not too long ago by the franchise board, which incorporates the 4 co-owners. This transfer is a part of the franchise’s efforts to revamp its teaching workers. Earlier this month, Punjab Kings appointed Ricky Ponting as their new head coach. Bayliss took over as head coach after IPL 2022, whereas Bangar joined the franchise in December 2023. The Kings, who’ve but to win an IPL title, completed eighth in 2023 and ninth the earlier season.
Curiously, Bangar’s first affiliation with Punjab Kings was as head coach from 2014 to 2016, after which he grew to become the assistant coach for the Indian nationwide workforce.
He later joined Royal Challengers Bangalore as a batting guide in 2021 and was subsequently promoted to go coach. In December 2023, he returned to Punjab Kings.
Bayliss changed former India captain Anil Kumble, who held the pinnacle coach place from 2020 to 2022.
Of their quest for a profitable formulation, Punjab Kings have ceaselessly modified coaches over the previous decade. Kumble was the fifth coach to guide the workforce in simply 5 seasons, following Sanjay Bangar (2014-2016), Virender Sehwag (2017), Brad Hodge (2018), and Mike Hesson (2019).
PBKS have not too long ago signed Australia’s World Cup winner Ricky Ponting as their new head coach.
“The largest factor that I wish to do at Punjab Kings is make everybody conscious that it is going to be a unique place. We’re not going to take a seat again and simply settle for mediocrity and end down the underside and produce other individuals sit again and discuss the way in which the franchise goes. It’s going to be extra dynamic. And persons are going to be speaking about this workforce and this franchise differently than ever earlier than,” Ponting stated, as per quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
