Joe Root broke Alastair Prepare dinner’s England Check file of 12,472 runs on the third day of the opening Check in opposition to Pakistan in Multan on Wednesday (October 9, 2024).
The 33-year-old grew to become England’s highest run scorer in Exams, and the fifth highest of all time, when he drove Pakistan seamer Aamer Jamal for a straight boundary to succeed in the 71 he wanted to surpass Prepare dinner.
As Root achieved the feat he was applauded by a handful of England followers at Multan stadium in addition to his team-mates within the dressing room.
Fewer Exams than Prepare dinner
It took Root 268 innings and 147 Exams to move the file of his former captain Prepare dinner, who achieved his tally in 161 Exams in an excellent profession that resulted in 2018.
Root, who made his Check debut in 2012, went to the lunch interval 72 not out together with his file standing at 12,474 runs and counting.
The all-time record is headed by India’s Sachin Tendulkar with 15,921 from 200 matches.
