ANKARA: Turkey on Wednesday despatched ships to evacuate round 2,000 of its residents from Lebanon, with its Beirut envoy saying it might be “the largest” evacuation of its kind from the war-torn nation.
A Turkish diplomatic supply informed AFP two naval ships carrying the evacuated nationals and their households would arrive on the southern Turkish port of Mersin “within the early hours” of Thursday morning.
