'Small incident': Digvijaya Singh after kin booked for accosting police

BHOPAL: An FIR was registered in opposition to former MLA Lakshman Singh‘s son Aditya Vikram Singh – Congress MP Digvijaya Singh‘s nephew – after he confronted cops in public in Raghogarh on Friday and tried to cease a nukkad natak being organised by the district administration for consciousness on ladies security.
A video exhibits him having a heated alternate with a girl police officer as he puffs away on a cigarette.
The FIR was registered in opposition to Aditya and his driver at Raghogarh police station beneath BNS sections 132 , 121(1) and three(5) for alleged obstruction of govt work.
Digvijaya sought to defend his nephew and stated, “Somebody advised me (concerning the incident) final night, I attempted to search out out. It was a small incident. He (Aditya) was going someplace. The administration had organised a nukkad natak on the highway. He didn’t know of it and therefore, he had some dispute with police. The police will do their work, we’ve got nothing to say about that. No matter occurs, we’ll see about it.”
The state BJP criticised the incident and former CM Digvijaya’s response to it. State BJP spokesman Narendra Saluja posted on X, “If the nephew takes regulation into his arms, intimidates a girl police officer, threatens to beat up cops in public, behaves indecently, blows cigarette smoke on them, then in keeping with Digvijaya Singh ji, this can be a ‘small incident’. Not a single phrase of condemnation, no recommendation to him on his behaviour. Quite the opposite, he’s saying police did what they needed to do and ‘we’ll see what could be accomplished’. Such double normal.”
