India-Pakistan extend validity of agreement on Kartarpur Sahib corridor by 5 years

NEW DELHI: India and Pakistan determined to increase the validity of settlement on Sri Kartarpur Sahib Hall by 5 years to make sure “uninterrupted” journey for Indian pilgrims to the holy Gurdwara in Pakistan, ministry of exterior affairs mentioned in a press release on Tuesday.
Additional, the MEA mentioned that in response to ongoing requests from pilgrims in regards to the $20 service cost imposed by Pakistan for every customer, India has reiterated its enchantment to Pakistan to waive any charges or fees for pilgrims.
“It has been agreed between India and Pakistan by diplomatic channels to increase the validity of the Settlement on Sri Kartarpur Sahib Hall for an extra interval of 5 years,” it mentioned.
“Extension of the validity of this Settlement will guarantee uninterrupted operation of the Hall to be used by the pilgrims from India to go to the holy Gurdwara in Pakistan,” it added.
The settlement, signed on October 24, 2019, was established to facilitate pilgrimages from India to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal, Pakistan, through the Kartarpur Sahib Hall.
