VIJAYAWADA: Iskcon temple in Tirupati acquired a bomb menace by way of e-mail on Sunday, prompting heightened safety measures and a complete search operation by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and canine squad. Regardless of the menace, which claimed that “Pakistan’s ISI-related terrorists would blow up the temple”, no explosives or suspicious objects had been found on the temple grounds. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
This menace comes only a day after two well-known resorts in Tirupati had been subjected to related hoax bomb threats on Saturday. Police performed in depth searches with the assistance of BDS and sniffer canine, finally confirming that the threats had been unfounded.
