The Indian blind cricket group is not going to compete within the T20 World Cup as the federal government has denied it permission to journey to Pakistan because of safety considerations, the nationwide federation stated on Tuesday (November 19, 2024).
The Indian group was alleged to cross the Wagah border on Wednesday (November 20, 2024) for the occasion, scheduled to be held from November 23 to December 3.
The Indian blind cricket group had acquired a No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the sports activities ministry for participation however apparently could not get clearance from the MEA.
“We’ve got been instructed unofficially that the blind group is not going to be permitted to journey to Pakistan. We had been scheduled to journey to Wagah border tomorrow. However as of now no clearance has come from the ministry officers. So, we’re a bit upset,” Shailendra Yadav, Normal Secretary of the Indian Blind Cricket Affiliation (IBCA), instructed PTI.
“They’re saying when the mainstream cricket group just isn’t protected how are you going to be protected there. In fact, we’ll settle for the choice, however why maintain the choice until the final minute, why not inform us a month or 25 days again. There’s a course of,” Yadab added.
