What was the RTI about?
Kiran Kumar Gowd in his RTI requested three questions:
Query 1: Whole variety of Common, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD school positions – Professors, Affiliate Professors and Assistant Professors allotted to Indian Institute of Know-how (IITs) and Indian Institute of Administration (IIMs) throughout the nation.
Query 2: Whole variety of crammed Common OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD school positions – Professors, Affiliate Professors and Assistant Professors allotted to Indian Institute of Know-how (IITs) and Indian Institute of Administration (IIMs)
Query 3: Whole variety of vacant Common, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD school positions – Professors, Affiliate Professors and Assistant Professors allotted to Indian Institute of Know-how (IITs) and Indian Institute of Administration (IIMs)
Replying to his questions, IIM Tiruchirappalli and IIM Indore shared the next responses:
IIM Tiruchirappalli’s response:
The information from IIM Tiruchirappalli reveals a major disparity within the filling of reserved class positions. Of the 94 whole sanctioned posts, almost half (48) stay unfilled. The SC, ST, OBC, and EWS classes are severely underrepresented.
In the meantime, all 40 Common class positions have been crammed. This stark distinction highlights the persistent underutilization of reserved positions, elevating considerations about institutional dedication to affirmative motion insurance policies and equal illustration.

The information reveals a stark imbalance within the school composition throughout classes on the establishment:
- Common Class: Out of 150 whole school positions, a disproportionate 106 are crammed by Common class candidates, protecting Professors, Affiliate Professors, and Assistant Professors.
- OBC Illustration: Solely 2 positions, each on the Assistant Professor stage, are occupied by OBC candidates.
- EWS Illustration: Just one Assistant Professor place is crammed by an EWS candidate.
- SC, ST, and PwD Illustration: There are not any school members from the SC, ST, or PwD classes.
Moreover, 41 positions stay vacant throughout all classes, additional indicating a major shortfall in filling reserved class positions, particularly in SC, ST, and PwD teams. This information underscores a extreme underrepresentation of marginalized teams within the school, suggesting a scarcity of variety and fairness in hiring practices.
