ICC Bans Sri Lanka Star Praveen Jayawickrama For A 12 months. This Is The Purpose

Sri Lanka’s left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama has been banned from all types of cricket for a 12 months, of which “six months shall be suspended,” as per the ICC. The ban was imposed on Jayawickrama after he admitted breaching the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. Jayawickrama admitted to being in breach of Article 2.4.7 of the Code, which offers with: “Obstructing or delaying any investigation that could be carried out by the ACU, together with concealing, tampering with, or destroying any documentation or different info that could be related to that investigation and/or that could be proof or might result in the invention of proof of corrupt conduct below the Anti-Corruption Code.”
