AGRA: A bride walked out of her wedding ceremony after the groom refused to carry out the principle rituals until his demand for Rs 30 lakh dowry was met on the venue. Ravi Kumar, a police constable posted in Agra, was arrested after a case in opposition to him was filed by the bride’s father, a sub-inspector posted in Ghaziabad.
The dowry demand was allegedly made shortly after the groom’s get together arrived and the garland change (varmala) ritual was carried out. When the bride’s household expressed their incapability to present such an enormous quantity, an argument ensued between the 2 events.
