3 of 31 Maoists gunned down in Bijapur encounter but to be recognized: Bastar IG | India Information

RAIPUR: Almost every week after the Feb 9 encounter in Bijapur wherein 31 Maoists have been gunned down, police have been but to determine three of them. The opposite 28 carried a cumulative bounty of Rs 1.1 crore. Police stated 17 of them have been ‘senior cadres’; some have been a part of Maoists’ IED squad and concerned within the Jan 6 explosion that killed eight safety personnel and a civilian driver.
Bastar vary IG P Sundarraj stated {that a} senior Maoist commander of west Bastar division committee member, Hunga Karma alias Sonku, was amongst these killed and carried a bounty of Rs 8 lakh. Sonku had joined the banned outfit in 1996 and had eight instances of homicide, dacoity and abduction lodged in opposition to him . He was concerned in a number of Maoist assaults, together with the Jan 6 IED blast, Murkinar camp assault in 2006 that killed 11 jawans and the 2007 Ranibodli camp assault wherein 55 securitymen died.
9 of the Maoists have been space committee members – carrying bounties of Rs 5 lakh every – and 7 have been ‘platform get together committee member’ (PPCM), carrying rewards of Rs 5 lakh every.
