NEW DELHI: The Election Commission is ready to mirror on points associated to modern election management, together with an enabling IT structure and enhancement of its social media outreach, at a convention with chief electoral officers (CEOs) of all states and UTs right here from March 4-5.
This is the primary occasion to be chaired by newly appointed chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In a primary, the EC has instructed each CEO to nominate a district election officer and an electoral registration officer to take part within the convention.
“As statutory authorities, CEOs, DEOs and EROs are important functionaries at the state, district and assembly constituency levels,” the EC stated in a press release on Monday.
To be held on the India International Institute of Democracy & Election Management, the two-day convention will function a platform for election officers of states and UTs for brainstorming and studying from one another’s experiences.
The first day of the convention will witness discussions on key areas of modern election management, together with IT structure, efficient communication, enhancing social media outreach and statutory position of various functionaries within the electoral processes. On the second day, CEOs of states and UTs will current their respective motion plan on thematic discussions from Day 1.
