The Government of Maharashtra on Friday (February 28, 2025) introduced partnering with Meta (previously Facebook) throughout the Mumbai Tech Week 2025. The purpose of this collaboration is to present all citizen services through WhatsApp on a single quantity, empowering 125 million residents to entry authorities services from wherever, at any time.
The chatbot, ‘Aaple Sarkar’, might be obtainable in three languages – Marathi, English, and Hindi and can provide service by means of each textual content and voice. The chatbot will provide services like addressing grievances, downloading important paperwork and certificates, comfort services like reserving bus tickets through Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) or Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) and offering well timed info to farmers and residents throughout Maharashtra.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis mentioned, “The Government of Maharashtra is committed to harnessing the power of open-source Gen AI technology to improve and simplify the access to public services. In partnership with Meta, we are taking a significant step in not only making government services digitally accessible through WhatsApp, but also more efficient, bridging the gap between governance and the people.”
Maharashtra authorities may also use Meta’s open-source massive language mannequin – Llama – to improve effectivity and productiveness within the authorities.

By integrating Llama to improve efficiency and by leveraging the reach of WhatsApp, we are ensuring that government services are not only more accessible but also more efficient. This collaboration with Meta marks a significant milestone in making governance smarter, faster, and more citizen centric.”
As a part of this collaboration, Meta will undertake a pilot to develop and implement a Gen AI resolution aimed toward enhancing accessibility of the federal government documentation and speed up choice making. This resolution might be powered by Llama’s reasoning engine and increase total productiveness for presidency officers.
