Jess Phillips: No animosity between me and Keir Starmer

The Labour MP defied her celebration chief by voting for an SNP movement calling for an instantaneous ceasefire in Gaza.

Sir Keir had signalled earlier than the vote that MPs holding frontbench roles can be sacked in the event that they backed the ceasefire name.

Asserting she was quitting her function as shadow home violence minister, Ms Phillips stated she was voting with “my constituents, my head, and my coronary heart”.

Ten of the celebration’s frontbenchers have left their jobs over the vote, together with eight shadow minsters.
