Karnataka lake horror: Israeli vacationer, homestay operator gang-raped; missing Odisha man found dead | Hubballi News

KOPPAL: A 27-year-old Israeli vacationer and a 29-year-old homestay operator had been gang-raped close to Sanapur Lake, near the Unesco World Heritage Site of Hampi, on Thursday evening.
A male vacationer from Odisha, who was with them, was pushed into the Tungabhadra left financial institution canal by the attackers and was found dead on Saturday.
According to police, the victims had been a part of a gaggle stargazing and taking part in music by the lake when three bike-borne males approached them round 10.30 pm.
The males initially requested for petrol and later demanded Rs 100.
When the vacationers refused, the assailants turned violent, assaulting them and pushing the three male vacationers—one from Odisha, one other from the US, and the third from Maharashtra—into the canal.
The two girls had been then raped, as per the FIR.
Koppal SP Ram L Arasiddi confirmed {that a} case has been registered below a number of sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), together with gang rape and tried homicide.
