NEW DELHI: The BJP-led central authorities on Monday asserted that the Maha Kumbh water was fit for bathing citing the new Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report. This got here after the UP CM Yogi Adityanath had rejected the earlier CPCB report that had termed Kumbh waters unfit for bathing citing excessive ranges of faecal micro organism.
Responding to a question from Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadauria and Congress MP Ok Sudhakaran, Union setting minister Bhupender Yadav cited the CPCB report, stating that the median ranges of pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and faecal coliform (FC) in any respect monitored websites had been throughout the permissible bathing limits.
The authorities mentioned that it allotted Rs 7,421 crore to the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) for river cleansing throughout 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 (till March 9).
