India all-rounder Axar Patel was on Friday (March 14, 2025) appointed captain of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025, changing Rishabh Pant, who exited the franchise earlier than the mega public sale.

Axar, 31, has been with DC since 2019 and was retained for ₹16.50 crore.

While his IPL captaincy expertise is proscribed, he led Gujarat in home cricket and served as India’s T20I vice-captain earlier this yr.

Last season, he scored 235 runs at a median of almost 30 and took 11 wickets at an economic system of seven.65.
