China on Friday (April 11, 2025) raised its extra tariffs on imports from the U.S. to 125% in retaliation to U.S. President Trump administration’s 145% levies on Chinese exports.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry in Beijing mentioned China raised extra tariffs to 125% on imported U.S. merchandise, elevating the levies from the earlier 84%.
China additionally filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) following the U.S. tariff hikes, the Commerce Ministry mentioned.
According to the most recent U.S. notification, the general commerce tariffs on China amounted to 145%.
