NEW DELHI: A contemporary encounter broke out between safety forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday evening.
According to officers, the trade of fireside befell in Lasana village of Surankote after safety forces launched a search operation based mostly on intelligence inputs relating to the presence of terrorists in the world.
One Army personnel was injured in the course of the firing and was subsequently shifted to a hospital for remedy, officers stated.
The Army said that further troops have been deployed and search operations are ongoing to stop the terrorists from escaping.
“Contact was established with terrorists during a joint operation with Police at Lasana, Surankote last night. Additional troops have been inducted, and search operations are ongoing to prevent the terrorists from escaping,” the Jammu-based White Knight Corps posted on X.
