NEW DELHI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday escalated his assault on Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, claiming that the Congress chief’s children are not Indian residents. He additionally raised questions on Gogoi’s alleged go to to Pakistan.
“I have evidence that Gaurav Gogoi’s son and daughter are not Indian citizens. We are examining what he did there (Pakistan) for 15 days. There is no tourism place in Pakistan; it is only a terrorist adda,” Sarma told ANI.
The BJP leader further alleged, “It is 100 per cent confirmed that he went there, however what did he do there in 15 days? Robert Vadra and Gaurav Gogoi are extra involved about Pakistan than India.”
Sarma’s feedback come a day after he made a cryptic put up on X writing: “I say this with full responsibility — the minor children of one Member of Parliament from Assam are no longer citizens of India. But this is just the beginning. There is much more yet to be revealed.”
Earlier this week, Sarma questioned citizenship standing of Gogoi’s relations. He has been targetting Gogoi repeatedly, stating he would launch proof of the MP’s alleged worldwide visits to Pakistan and Nepal earlier than September.
Gogoi has not but responded to the allegations made by Sarma.
