Pakistani intruder nabbed by BSF in Punjab's Pathankot

NEW DELHI: BSF personnel on Thursday apprehended a Pakistani intruder close to the worldwide border in Punjab’s Pathankot district. After preliminary questioning, the person was handed over to the Narot Jaimal Singh Police Station, the BSF Jammu unit confirmed.This comes days every week after one other Pakistani infiltrator was shot useless by BSF troops whereas making an attempt to cross into Indian territory in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district.The incidents happen amid heightened vigilance alongside the border, following repeated crossborder provocations from Pakistan in the wake of India’s main counterterror operation.On May 7, the armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, concentrating on and destroying 9 well-known terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 Pakistan-sponsored terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. Among the targets hit had been the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur and a Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Muridke, each deep inside Pakistani territory.
