NEW DELHI: A London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 individuals crashed in a residential space minutes after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner (AI171) was seen shedding altitude quickly earlier than crashing into Meghaninagar, near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, round 2 pm. The crash led to a big hearth and thick smoke rising from the location.Air India stated the flight was carrying 232 passengers and 10 crew members. The plane took off at 1.39pm and crashed quickly after onto the hostel and residential quarters of medical doctors and employees members of BJ Medical school and civil hospital in Ahmedabad.Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the variety of casualties is but to be confirmed.
