Ace archers similar to Olympians Deepika Kumari and B. Dhiraj in recurve and V. Jyothi Surekha and Abhishek Verma in compound are among the Indian archers named for the inaugural Archery Premier League, scheduled to be held on the Yamuna Sports Complex in Delhi in October.
The Archer Association of India (AAI) picked the archers on the idea of top-20 world rankings and a recently-held choice trials.
The APL, to be organised underneath lights, will even witness the participation of elite worldwide archers.
Selected Indian archers:
Recurve:Men: B. Dhiraj (World Ranking 14), Tarundeep Rai, Atanu Das, Neeraj Chauhan, Rahul, Rohit Kumar, Mrinal Chauhan, Sachin Gupta and Krish Kumar.
Women: Deepika Kumari (W.R. 3), Ankita Bhakat, Bhajan Kaur, Gatha Khadake, Sharvari Shende, Basanti Mahato, Kumkum Mohod, Tisha Punia and Anshika Kumari.
Compound: Men: Rishabh Yadav (W.R. 9), Abhishek Verma (W.R. 10), Prathamesh Fuge (W.R. 11), Priyansh (W.R. 16), Aman Saini, Ojas Deotale, Sahil Jadhav, Chittibomma Jignas and Pulkit Kajla.
Women: V. Jyothi Surekha (W.R. 3), Parneet Kaur (W.R. 17), Prithika Pradeep, Taniparthi Chikitha, Avneet Kaur, Madala Surya Hamsini, Swati Dudhwal, Madhura Dhamangaonkar and Pranjal Salve.
