The Central Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), at its assembly held in Lucknow, below the chairmanship of Governor Sanjay Malhotra, permitted the nomination of Indranil Bhattacharyya, Executive Director, as an ex officio member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
