Argentine President Javier Milei Cleared of Misconduct Over LIBRA Promotion

Argentine President Javier Milei was cleared of wrongdoing over his promotion of the LIBRA memecoin in February, the Buenos Aires Herald reported on Saturday.

A decision issued Friday by the nation’s anti-corruption workplace argued that the president was talking “as an economist and not a public official,” when he shared information of LIBRA on X.

The president’s private account “was created long before he was elected country president, and even before the beginning of his previous term as deputy,” based on the decision, signed by Alejandro Melik, the top of the nation’s anti-corruption workplace.

Milei’s put up in regards to the Solana-based memecoin promoted it as a mission designed to assist small and medium-sized Argentine corporations elevate capital. LIBRA surged to a market capitalization of round $4.5 billion.
