DHAKA: A Bangladesh courtroom Tuesday issued arrest warrants against former PM Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and 16 others for alleged irregularities in allocation of govt plots.
The arrest orders got here after the courtroom accepted fees in two of six corruption instances filed by anti-corruption fee (ACC).
The courtroom has instructed police throughout a number of jurisdictions in Dhaka and different districts to report again on the execution of the warrants by April 29.
ACC has filed a complete of six instances alleging irregular allocation of six plots, every 10 cottahs in measurement, within the diplomatic zone of Sector-27 within the Purbachal New Town mission.
According to ACC paperwork, Hasina, in collusion with senior officers, facilitated the unlawful allotment of plots to herself and a number of members of the family, together with her son Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul, sister Sheikh Rehana, and Rehana’s kids – Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, Azmina Siddiq, and UK lawmaker Tulip Siddiq.
The accused have been proven as “fugitives” in all instances.
In a separate growth, ACC filed a separate case against Tulip, alleging she illegally obtained a luxurious flat in Dhaka’s upscale Gulshan space from an actual property developer. On April 10 and April 13, arrest warrants have been issued in 4 different instances tied to the identical Purbachal plot allocation scandal. Hasina has now been made a typical accused in all six instances filed by ACC.
