NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Social gathering (BJP) swept the Chhattisgarh civic polls, successful all 10 mayoral posts on Saturday, reported information company PTI citing officers. The outcomes have been declared after votes have been counted for 173 city our bodies in Chhattisgarh.
Calling the ballot victory “historic day for the Chhatisgarh BJP”, CM Vishnu Deo Sai thanked the voters.
“This can be a historic day for Chhattisgarh BJP and the state govt…BJP has bought a historic win in Chhattisgarh Civic Polls, our candidates received all 10 seats with an enormous margin. Congress has been swiped clear within the civic polls, they didn’t win even a single seat…we wish to thank all of the voters for having religion in BJP and PM Modi,” the chief minister informed information company ANI.
The voter turnout in civic polls was 72.19 per cent in state. Koriya and Gariaband districts recorded highest with 84.97 per cent and 84.65 per cent respectively whereas Bilaspur and Raipur recorded lowest at 51.37 per cent and 52.75 per cent.
There have been 44,90,360 eligible voters, comprising 22,08,625 males, 22,81,226 ladies and 509 third-gender individuals.
CM Sai on the eve of election outcomes, had expressed optimism that BJP would emerge victorious, simply because it did within the Lok Sabha, state Meeting, and by-elections.
After the outcomes, BJP chief JP Nadda known as Chhattisgarh BJP’s state president and Chhattisgarh CM to congratulate on the social gathering’s landslide victory within the native our bodies election.
