China says ‘by no means provided lethal weapons’ to parties in Ukraine war

Beijing on Friday (April 18, 2025) denied giving any occasion in the Ukraine war lethal weapons, after President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed he had “information” that China was supplying arms to Russia.

“The Chinese side has never provided lethal weapons to any party in the conflict, and strictly controls dual-use items,” international ministry spokesman Lin Jian mentioned.

Mr. Zelensky didn’t elaborate on his accusations, saying solely that Kyiv was “ready” to speak about them in element.

Last week, the Ukrainian chief mentioned Kyiv knew of no less than 155 Chinese nationals deployed to help Moscow’s invasion, and alleged the Ukrainian military had captured two Chinese troopers in the japanese Donetsk area.

Beijing on Friday mentioned that its “position on the Ukraine issue is consistent and clear”.

“We have always actively made efforts for a cessation of hostilities and peace talks,” Mr. Lin mentioned.

China has portrayed itself as a impartial occasion in the three-year war, regardless of criticism from Western governments that its shut ties to Russia have given Moscow essential financial and diplomatic help.
