NEW DELHI: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday identified that the spontaneous protests in Kashmir following the Pahalgam terror assault signaled a transparent rejection of Pakistan by the native inhabitants. He suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union house minister Amit Shah to make use of this as a chance to “adopt Kashmiris” because the Centre continues to “confront Pakistan” over its involvement in terrorist actions.“In fact, it is a historic opportunity for the government, for Prime Minister Modi, for home minister Amit Shah. They should use this opportunity properly. You should definitely confront Pakistan but you should also adopt Kashmiris,” Owaisi advised PTI.When requested to make clear what he meant by “adopting Kashmiris,” Owaisi stated the federal government should make sure the safety of human rights within the area. “They should get their rights, Kashmiri students shouldn’t be attacked in other parts of the country,” he stated.“All this should be done. We shouldn’t lose this opportunity. Don’t leave the Kashmiris to their fate. Adopt them,” he added.Calling out Pakistan’s actions to “foment instability and communal divide in India”, he stated, “You can never trust Pakistan as long as the Pakistani deep state, Pakistani ISI, Pakistani military’s objective is to destabilise Bharat.”Additionally, Owaisi can be part of the seven-member all-party delegation scheduled to go to a number of key accomplice nations — together with UN Security Council members — later this month, as a part of diplomatic outreach linked to Operation Sindoor and India’s ongoing marketing campaign towards cross-border terrorism.“This is not about any party affiliation… We will have a more detailed meeting before leaving… This is an important task.
