Row Over Attack On Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, BJP Suspects Political Conspiracy By Rivals

DELHI: Delhi Police on Wednesday has registered an FIR of attempt to murder in reference to the attack on CM Rekha Gupta at her campus workplace in north Delhi’s Civil Lines space, officers stated. A case underneath Section 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been filed at Civil Lines police station, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia stated in a press release. The accused, recognized as Sakriya Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai, has been taken into custody and is underneath interrogation, the officer added. Gupta was attacked throughout a ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme at her camp workplace on Wednesday morning. Her workplace described the assault as a part of a “well-planned conspiracy to kill her”.According to sources, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell is investigating the incident.
