Iran mentioned Sunday (June 22, 2025) that the U.S. “decided to destroy diplomacy” with its strikes on the nation’s nuclear programme and that the Iranian army will determine the “timing, nature and scale of Iran’s proportionate response”.

Iran’s United Nations ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, spoke to an emergency assembly of the United Nations Security Council hours after the U.S. inserted itself into Israel’s battle in opposition to Iran by putting three nuclear sites contained in the Islamic Republic.

“We will take all measures necessary,” he advised the assembly.
