A Congress MLA and a Kannada activist have vented their ire in opposition to actress Rashmika Mandanna for declining the invitation to attend the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) 2025 and for calling herself as somebody from Hyderabad.
Mandya MLA Ravi Kumar Gowda, popularly often called Ravi Ganiga, stated Mandanna hails from Kodagu district of Karnataka and she or he ought to be taught a lesson for figuring out herself as somebody from Hyderabad.
“Rashmika Mandanna started her career from Karnataka by debuting in Kannada film Kirik Party. Last time, when she was invited for the film festival, she had said that she stays in Hyderabad,” Ganiga advised reporters.
The MLA alleged that the actress had stated she didn’t know the place Karnataka is and refused to attend the movie pageant right here saying she didn’t have time.
“One of our MLAs went to her house and invited her several times but she spoke so rudely about Kannada despite growing from Kannada land. Shouldn’t she be taught a lesson?” Ganiga requested.
Warning the Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce (KFFC), the MLA stated he’ll write to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister asking them to withdraw the subsidies given to the movie business.
The ruling Congress is upset with the movie fraternity over the poor turnout at BIFFes.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.Okay. Shivakumar on March 1, 2025 warned the movie fraternity saying that he knew tighten the nuts and bolts and whom to method. If the federal government didn’t present help and permissions, filmmaking could not occur, Shivakumar had cautioned.
