Maoists kill kin of surrendered cadres in Chandigarh

RAIPUR: Maoists killed three family of surrendered cadres in a village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division on Tuesday, and are feared to have kidnapped over a dozen villagers in a bid to terrorise the locals. One of these killed was a scholar. Security forces have been despatched to the realm to trace down the Maoist squad, studies Rashmi Drolia. The victims have been strangled with ropes in entrance of villagers. Two of them are believed to be family of Maoist commander Dinesh Modiyam who gave up arms in March. Dinesh, the secretary of Gangaloor committee, was probably the most dreaded Maoist in Bijapur, blamed for over 100 deaths. On Tuesday, a squad led by Maoist commander Vella stormed into Peddakorma and singled out the surrendered cadres’ family. Police mentioned a probe has been launched.
