Next decade is defining period for India’s energy transition, says Premier Energies

With India focusing on 500 GW non-fossil gas capability by 2030, of which photo voltaic would account for about 300 GW, Premier Energies Limited, considered one of India’s greatest built-in photo voltaic energy tools producers, is seeing an enormous alternative forward, a prime official stated.

“The next decade is a defining period for India’s energy transition. With solar alone expected to contribute nearly 300 GW by 2030, the opportunity is unprecedented,” stated Vinay Rustagi, Chief Business Officer, Premier Energies.

“We are focused on developing our capabilities and creating world class, globally competitive capacities using advanced technologies to replace imports. We see ourselves as catalysts in enabling India to meet its renewable targets while also emerging as a serious global player,” he stated.

“Premier Energies aims to be at the centre of that transformation, maintaining a 20 percent market share while offering the world a cost-competitive, non-Chinese manufacturing alternative,” he added.

With a ₹12,000 crore capex plan underway, the corporate is scheduled to greater than double it’s photo voltaic cell and photo voltaic module manufacturing capability subsequent 12 months and would scale up additional by FY28 — positioning itself among the many largest absolutely built-in renewable tools producers on this planet, he stated. 

Currently the corporate has 5.1 GW of module capability which can attain 11.1 GW subsequent 12 months. Similarly the present 3.2 GW of photo voltaic cell capability would enhance to 8.4 GW subsequent 12 months.

To have a bigger play within the sector the corporate has stepped into the broader enviornment of energy storage, photo voltaic inverters, aluminium module frames, and backward integration into ingots and wafers, he stated.

Since the corporate’s workforce of 6,600 is anticipated to double within the coming 12 months, it is partnering with ITIs and coaching institutes to have expert manpower.

For the primary quarter of FY26 the corporate reported income of ₹1869.5 crore, up 12% year-on-year. During the period, its revenue elevated 55% year-on-year to ₹308 crore.
