U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the termination of IT providers contracts, completely valued at $5.1 billion, with firms equivalent to Accenture and Deloitte, a memo confirmed on Thursday (April 11, 2025).
The pacts “represent non-essential spending on third party consultants” for providers Pentagon workers can carry out, Mr. Hegseth mentioned in the April 10 memo launched by the Pentagon.
“These terminations represent $5.1 billion in wasteful spending…and nearly $4 billion in estimated savings,” Mr. Hegseth added.
