Punjab: 4 pose as Nihangs to kidnap girl, hijack car in Mohali; arrested within 10 hours | India News

MOHALI: Four males in Nihang apparel kidnapped a girl in her personal car, pushed her off at Airport Road in Mohali, and drove off with the automobile in the early hours of Friday. Thanks to fast work by Haryana Police, they have been arrested from a gurdwara within 10 hours.The stolen car was recovered from the gurdwara compound in Shahbad city, 70km from Mohali. It’s uncommon that criminals disguise themselves as Nihang or holy Sikh warriors.“We were initially blind in this case. Our teams meticulously traced CCTV footage and tracked the vehicle via toll plaza cameras. The victim was later found abandoned near a mall on Airport Road,” mentioned Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans.According to the criticism, crime occurred on intervening night time of July 11-12. The girl and her male pal have been getting back from a movie after they have been intercepted by 4 males, dressed as Nihang, using a motorbike. They dragged the person out, piled into the car, and kidnapped the girl.SSP Hans mentioned police’s concern was the girl’s security. “Thankfully, she was thrown out unharmed and the suspects fled.” Multiple police groups labored the case. The coordinated effort helped hint the suspects.One accused, Shamsher Singh of Gazipur in Gurdaspur district, turned out to be granthi himself. The others in custody are cabbie Satnam Singh of Ludhiana’s Raune Kalan village, and two safety guards from Jammu’s Nawanshahr – Nirmal Singh and Chander Mohan alias Jaildar. The SSP mentioned they deliberate to promote the car in Delhi.
