Quim Vidal beats Joshua Berry in play-off for the title

Spaniard Quim Vidal gained the play-off on the third gap to beat the champion of the final match Joshua Berry of England after the two tied for the prime spot with 18-under 270 in the $300,000 Delhi Challenge golf match at the Classic Golf and Country Club on Sunday (March 23, 2025).

It was a superb end by Vidal. After beginning the day with a three-shot lead, Vidal needed to make a 30-feet eagle putt on the 18th to drive the play-off with a one-under 71 for the fourth spherical.

Joshua had six birdies and two bogeys for his spherical of 68.

Arjun Prasad made six birdies and a bogey in his fourth spherical of 67 to be the finest Indian performer at tied sixth place with 15-under 273.

The champion gained Rs.41,28,000 and the runner-up $28,38,000. Arjun pocketed Rs.7,53,360.

“I knew I had to make an eagle to get in the play-off. I was so focussed on making that putt. It was probably the only long putt I made all day. It was special,” stated Vidal who ultimately clinched the title with a superb birdie on the third play-off gap.

“The play-off was so tough. I didn’t know how it was going to end,” conceded Vidal.
