Scientists on the National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) claimed to have developed designer clownfish by way of cross-breeding of two clownfish species – Amphiprion percula (male) and Amphiprion ocellaris (feminine).

The analysis findings had been printed in an article by scientists Ajith Kumar T.T. and P. R Divya on the Centre for Peninsular Aquatic Genetic Resources, which is a part of NBFGR, Kochi, within the journal Current Science.
