Promising all-rounder Suryansh Shedge will lead a 17-member Mumbai Emerging group on a four-week publicity tour to the United Kingdom, beginning June 28.
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) secretary Abhay Hadap introduced the squad and the tour fixtures whereas spelling out the aims of the tour at a press convention on Monday.
Shedge, who has all however cemented his place within the Ranji Trophy, could have three extra teammates — Musheer Khan, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Himanshu Singh — with Ranji caps for firm for the 5 two-day and 4 one-day matches in opposition to varied opponents.
“Most of the players have middle-class background, so it’s a huge step by the MCA to organise the exposure trip,” Shedge stated.
“I have always been a busy cricketer. I like to contribute with the bat, the ball and in the field. Captaincy has presented me with another aspect to remain involved in the game. I am looking forward to adapting in alien conditions and helping all my teammates to learn as much as we can in these nine games.”
Besides competing and coaching at varied venues, the group can even go to Lord’s. Shedge, who will tour England for the primary time, harassed all of the gamers have been excited to relish the expertise, “where we saw the World Test Championship final earlier in the week”.
