Chepauk Super Gillies stormed into the playoffs with a commanding six-wicket victory over SKM Salem Spartans in the remaining league match of the Salem-leg of the TNPL at the Salem Cricket Foundation Ground on Thursday. Super Gillies rode on fluent half-centuries by opener Ok. Aashiq and the ever-reliable N. Jagadeesan to make it 5 out of 5 whereas Spartans stayed in the second spot with six factors from 5 video games.

Aashiq and Mokit Hariharan got here out all weapons blazing , punishing each tempo and spin with a flurry of boundaries, to set the tone in pursuit of the 161-run goal.

Aashiq was notably extreme on M. Poiyamozhi, putting two fours and a towering six whereas Mokit took the assault to Harish Kumar, clearing the ropes twice as Super Gillies raced to 71 with out loss at the finish of the PowerPlay.
