NEW DELHI: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Alex Marshall, the former head of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), as a guide for one 12 months to supervise its anti-corruption operations, in a transfer geared toward “enhancing its reputation” after repeated incidents of fixing and integrity breaches in recent times.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!Marshall, who served because the ICC’s ACU normal supervisor till September final 12 months, can be tasked with coaching personnel, enhancing vigilance, and reinforcing protocols. The resolution was finalised throughout a board assembly on the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

“We appointed Alex Marshall for one year because we feel we need to enhance our ACU activities. They need to be more vigilant and receive more training,” BCB media committee chairman Iftekhar Rahman informed reporters.“We are receiving a lot of complaints regarding corruption. We cannot sit idle, so all we can do is increase our manpower, bring in a proper trainer, and strengthen our ACU activities – that is why we are appointing Alex for one year,” he added.“He worked with the ICC. We think our ACU needs strengthening, which is why we are bringing him in,” Iftekhar stated, noting that the ICC’s integrity unit will even monitor the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).Alongside Marshall, the BCB confirmed two more key appointments — Julian Wood, a power-hitting specialist who has beforehand labored with Sri Lanka Cricket, will be a part of as specialist batting coach for 3 months, whereas Tony Hemming will take over as head of turf administration for 2 years.
