South Africa gained the toss and selected to bowl first against defending champion Australia at Lord’s within the World Test Championship closing on Wednesday (June 11, 2025). Cloud cowl determined the decision.

Unlike South Africa, Australia did not have a warmup recreation, however captain Pat Cummins stated they have been prepared.
“Preparation has been unreal. All the guys in the team are ready to go,” Cummins stated. “We have had about 10 days of preparation. I don’t think there’s any extra pressure. We’ve been here before and won it. So it’s just about going out and enjoying it.”
The groups have been named on Tuesday.
Australia has gone with a brand new prime order by pushing up Marnus Labuschagne to open in a Test for the first time, and putting Cameron Green at No. 3 for his first check in 15 months. Josh Hazlewood has displaced Scott Boland within the tempo assault.
South Africa introduced again Lungi Ngidi because the third seamer in the one change to the group from its final check in January in Cape Town, a four-day win over Pakistan.
