KOLKATA: A gaggle of scientists from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Kalyani College in Bengal and Alexander Koenig Leibniz Institute in Germany has found a brand new phytophagous beetle species in Kolkata, the ZSI mentioned in an announcement. The group comprising scientists Debika Bhunia, Devanshu Gupta, Subhankar Kumar Sarkar and Dirk Ahrens found the beetle in Behala in southern fringes of the town and named it Maladerakolkataensis, the assertion issued on Thursday mentioned.
